5 Our sound environment or "soundscape"
Often described in the modern world as being bombarded by industrial "noise"
Noise is the audio equivalent to weeds
Noise that is enforced upon us
Or we often try to block it out with our own personal soundtrack
Lots of current research suggests that noise is a high factor in modern day stress
We would also appear to live in world where all our other senses take a backseat to our visually oriented world
That's not to over simplify our modern selves
But I do believe that our ancestors and fairly recent ancestors at that had a more attuned auditory relationship to the environment
Archaeoacoustics is emerging from a pseudo-science to a full blow international study so significance
